Local author, Amanda Roberts, will describe how her love of history and literature combine to provide the inspiration for her novels, the most recent of which is set in her home village of Islip, combining a story set in the present day with one taking place against the backdrop of the English Civil War. Amanda is a magazine editor by profession, with strong local connections, having previously lived in Forest Hill and her two sons having been at school in Beckley.

 Copies of Amanda's novels will be available to buy after the talk (cash or card).
