A talk by Nick Mynheer on his life and work as a painter and sculptor, resident in Horton cum Studley - live in The Abingdon Arms as well as on Zoom (see below)

Nick studied Graphic Design at the Hornsey College of Art in London. After several

years working in Advertising he turned to painting full time, then subsequently sculpture and glass design.

A rigorous simplicity typifies his work, which is largely figurative with a richly expressive linear quality. Anything superfluous to the design is omitted and anything deemed important emphasised.

Over the last 35 years Nick has worked on more than 40 commissions for churches, cathedrals and public spaces in stone, paint and glass.

Using examples of several projects, Nick will share some of the experiences and sense of joy he has had in producing them.
