Geoff is going to talk about Genghis Khan and the Mongols, based on his recent visit to the country and his long-term interest in the Mongols, sparked during his schooldays when he read contemporaneous accounts of a powerful force out East and its impact on the price of herrings in Europe. He will illustrate his talk with photos from his trip and also tell us something of his observations of modern-day Mongolia
